Eddie Firth dredged up a magical artifact from the bottom of the C&D Canal and took it home with him. Unfortunately his lack of ability to manipulate the item’s magic during his exposure to it caused his body to launch into a rapid series of mutations that ended in his current form: that of an oversized mud-monster!
His intellect suffered as well, leaving him open to the influence of Caustic and Jaggoleth, who he believes will take care of him if he protects them from the heroes who so often harass them.
