This post will be updated periodically as I run across free resources for frugally building the stuff that makes your tabletop game look pretty. Items here will mostly be printables.
Paper Minis – Printable sheets of paper miniatures of the stand-up-on-a-base variety.
- PrintableHeroes – A large collection of fantasy minis. There’s a Patreon site to buy into some upgrades, but there are plenty of free ones as well.
- Cardboard Heroes – A small collection of superhero-themed mini sheets
- OneMonk– An assortment of minis spanning multiple genres.
- Paper Forge – another Patreon with some freebies. Not as extensive or as easliy searchable as PrintableHeroes, but there’s some good stuff there.
- Zen Paper Miniatures – links to a lot different mini sheets spanning a number of genres.
- PaperCraftDungeon – Fantasy figures; sort by price to see the free ones at the top of the page.
- Impromptu Paper Minis – A Tumblr user sharing some of his personal creations.
- DriveThruRPG – There are lots of free or pay-what-you-want mini collections available. The link for this list item will reach a page with search criteria set to find them.
- Brave Adventures – A couple of freebies mixed in here.
- Carboard Warriors – An active forum dedicated to paper mini design!
- PaperMini – Another Patreon with some free minis mixed in.
Flat Token Images – Useful for the picture-on-a-washer method.
- TokenTool – Free software for token-making.
- Monkey House Games – Provides some free downloadable hero, villain, and henchman counters from the Villains and Vigilantes/Mighty Protectors universe. They’re square tokens, but a little editing will get them onto a round one.
- FieryDragon – A downloadable PDF full of images of undead and humanoids on square tokens that can be adapted to round bases.

Scenery – Papercraft dungeons, towns, cities, and more!
- PaperCraftDungeon (Indoors) and

- PaperCraftSquare – some buildings, furniture, etc.
- Wizards of the Coast – The D&D creators’ site has a few free printable scenery downloads.
- Infinity Paper Scenery – A Pinterest site with an assortment of templates.
- TopoSolitario – Mostly high-tech wargame vehicles, but could be useful in sci-fi or supers settings.
- Genet Models – Mostly Sci-fi and military themed
